er..no, the 4th suns before tonatiuh (the central face) were tezcatlipoca, quetzalcoatl, chalchitlicue and xipe totec, and the opposite pairs as we know good and evil weren't existed among the precolombian cultures... huitzilopoctli was the own tribal good of aztecs, symbol of war and sun, but no of evil.
this is just more amazing work, the lighting (light at the top to dark at the bottom) brings out the texture exquisetly. it captured a good part of that culture, showing it's complex style with an ancient simplicity. if that even made any sense. i really like it great work again
I feel so thankful with this comment, I'm bringing a new serie that shows a respect to the ancient cultures in Mexico, this is the great sun for the aztecs as a calendar, I have to be honest saying that don't know the real meaning of all the symbolism in this peace, but it always is so impressive to have those pieces of ancient art in front of you *0*
wow, this is like so cool! they let you take photos of stuff like this? they'd kill us if we'd walk into the museum with cameras love aztecs and mayans and incas and all of them. they were so damn smart! unlike some of us these days... pitty they're gone...
well the museum let taking shot just if there is no flash
I used an ISO 400 for this pic ^^
they (well in this museum) have so much care for this king of things
many guards arpund the place
but are cultures so incredible
and u are right so so so smarts
not even the roman empire had the concept of the zero in their numbers, and some cultures here already had it *0*
yea, i know... the romans aren't the best people to be taken as a reference, anyway... i think that the only nations that deserve that are the Egyptians, all of the south-american ones and the Greeks...
